Cycling away from an airport while everyone else waited for transport is one of the best feelings. No haggling over taxi prices, no touts, and completely free. Nanglers have cycled through the Himalayas visiting Rombuk monastery on the northern side of Mount Everest, along Africa’s longest river, the Nile, from Cairo in the north to Khartoum in Sudan and some others. Its a chance to meet the local people, always welcoming, humbling in their hospitality and a reawakening of one’s senses. Start with simpler rides through Europe on off road cycle tracks through Spain, the back roads of France or  visit the quiet roads along the fjords of Norway.
